Adirondack Air

Living in Upstate New York sure does have its perks — mainly that there are so many beautiful locations right in our backyard, with one of my favorite destinations being the Adirondacks. My favorite town in the ADK is Old Forge, where my family and I traveled to during almost every summer when I was a kid. We would rent a cabin on the lake and camp for a week or so (it was more like glamping than camping, to be honest).

It was always so much fun boating, kayaking, hiking, having s’mores by the fire each night, and scouting out black bears (Old Forge is notorious for them!). So, I always try to make it back to the quaint town at least once a year — it always brings back so many great memories. (One of my favorite times to visit is during the fall — it is too beautiful for words!)

Yesterday I took a day trip just to do a hike with Charlie (our pup!) and go into town for lunch, so today I wanted to share a few photos and show you what kind of outfit I wear for an outdoorsy day like this…

My go-to outfit for a hike — or really anything else outdoorsy — is a combo of an oversized t-shirt, leggings, and a flannel to layer on top if I get chilly. I also bring some sunglasses to put on once we get to the top and the sun shines down, along with a comfy pair of sneakers.

The flannel that I’m wearing in these photos is my absolute favorite, but I bought it a few years ago from Urban Outfitters. They have tons of plaid shirts that are just as nice and soft (which is what I love about this one), so whenever I’m looking for a new one, I always check there first… This one is a great option! It’s always this time of year — when fall is right around the corner — that I start wanting to stock up on a few new ones. I pretty much live in them from mid-September to mid-November!

Okay, and let’s just talk about these Nikes real quick — the pair I have on here is an older color, but they have newer colors in the same style and I am in love with them! I love the knitted look, and it’s funny because people always think they’re Yeezys! I love the plain grey ones that they have now — I kind of want to order them! If you do get these, I would definitely recommend going down at least half a size; I find that they run big.

What are your favorite summer day trip locations?

xoxo
